Chris Cook is in his first year as the offensive quality control coordinator at East Carolina.
In 2015, Cook served as defensive coordinator and defensive line coach for Independence High School in Charlotte, where he helped the Patriots to an 8-5 record and a second round NCHSAA playoff appearance. His defensive unit held opposing offenses to seven points or less six times in 2015, including two shutouts.
Cook co-founded the Gamechangers Football Academy - located in Charlotte – in 2008 with the goal of developing community youth on academics, personal conduct, and sportsmanship. As a coach, Cook delivered speeches to reinforce the value of high standards for personal behavior on and off the field. He also had oversight of summer camps for older elementary and middle school students, and conducted testing of high school athletes in preparation for college recruiting.
Cook graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in communications. Prior to completing his degree, Cook pursued a professional football career, attending workouts with the Chicago Bears, Philadelphia Eagles, Buffalo Bills and Indianapolis Colts.
