The East Carolina Athletics Department, working in conjunction with The Collegiate Licensing Company, launched the "College Vault" program on August 17 at the annual Meet The Pirates event inside Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium.
Â
The College Vault is a vintage-inspired merchandise program that pays homage to the University's historical trademarks and traditions through fashion-forward apparel and non-apparel products. In an effort to bring back some nostalgia, ECU Athletics has brought back three vintage logos for the launch of the collection, including the Pirate with the sword in his mouth- a fan favorite from the 1970s; the block EC- a uniform staple from the 1970s; and the script Pirates- a mark that debut in the 1970s but lasted thru several decades in various versions.
Â
"This is an exciting day for our fans and retailers as we bring back these vintage marks for a limited time," ECU Athletics Director Jon Gilbert said. "The partnership with CLC allows us to launch these marks similar to Disney Vault where they will be in retail for a limited number of years then return to the vault as we bring back other vintage marks in the future."
Â
The College Vault allows ECU to celebrate its vintage marks that represent a strong history in a trendy, stylish program that is clearly differentiated in the marketplace. A select number of vendors are licensed to produce merchandise with Vault logos. You can find Officially Licensed ECU College Vault products at Dowdy Student Store, University Book Exchange and shop.ecupirates.com.
