Blake Hardegree recently completed his fourth season at East Carolina University where he currently serves as the Director of Operations - a position he began on July 8, 2019.

In his current role, Hardegree handles administrative duties, including team travel, game-day organization, special events coordination and all baseball community outreach efforts. Prior to his re-appointment, he worked one year as the director of player development helping head coach Cliff Godwin and his staff in a variety of roles including player video analysis.

Before coming to Greenville, Hardegree spent 18 months at Samford University where he served as the volunteer director of player development and operations. During his tenure, he was responsible operating the Sydex Bats system working with video, data and analytics, while also assisting in the day-to-day operations, field maintenance and facility usage with regards to summer camps. He was a member of a Bulldogs staff that captured the 2018 Southern Conference Tournament title, appeared in the 2018 Tallahassee Regional and the 2019 SoCon regular season crown on their way to a program-best 41 wins.

From August 2016 to January 2018, Hardegree worked as an infield, catchers and hitting coach at Iowa Lakes Community College. He had with recruiting, video analytics and operational duties that helped improve the offensive and defensive numbers across the board.

Before to his time at Iowa Lakes, Hardegree helped lead the St. Joseph Mustangs in the M.I.N.K Collegiate summer league to a championship title in 2015 and the playoffs in 2016. He assisted Head Coach Matt Johnson as the pitching, catching, infield and bench coach, while also coordinating camps and scout days for the Mustangs. Hardegree proved to be a two-year M.I.N.K League All-Star game assistant coach and coached a number of future professional players.Â
A native of Amarillo, Texas, Hardegree completed four years at the Division II level and finished his collegiate career at Northwest Missouri State University. He was a catcher and served as Team Captain in his last two years of action. Hardegree also earned all-conference honors both on the field and academically, while earning his degree in corporate recreation and wellness, and is pursuing his master's degree in athletic administration.
Hardegree married to the former Sarah Raymond of Elkhorn, Neb. on Sept. 1, 2018 and are the proud parents of Graham, who was born in December of 2022.
