Rebecca Wade is in her seventh year as an acaÂdemic coordinator in ECU’s student development offices, a position she began in March of 2015.
Since working with baseball (2015), Wade has helped the Pirates register a 3.05 or higher grade point average in 14 of 15 semesters, including a program-best 3.69 in the spring of 2021, which bested the previous mark of 3.61 (spring 2020). Over 350 combined student-athletes have been named to the ECU Director of Athletics Honor Roll (3.0 or higher), while 100-plus players have earned inclusion on The American All-Academic Team maintaining a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Following the 2021 season, the Pirates earned their sixth-straight AAC Team Academic and American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Excellence Awards (2016-21). Since 2016, five players have earned CoSIDA Academic All-America honors in Travis Watkins (2016 first team), Charlie Yorgen (2016 third team), Jake Agnos (2019 first team), Alec Burleson (2019 third team, 2020 first team) and Matt Bridges (2021 third team).

Wade serves as an academic advisor for student-athletes, monitors their progress and success rates in the classroom, handles class registration, and assists with study hall hours and tracking NCAA eligibility.

She began her tenure at ECU as a student worker in the athletics ticket office from 2005-08, before becoming a student development graduate assistant for the 2007-08 year. Wade also spent one year as a sports marÂketing assistant from 2009-10, before joining the office of undergraduate admissions as an admissions counselor from 2010-15.

A Mooresville, N.C., native, Wade earned a bachelor’s degree in marketÂing at ECU in 2006 before completing her MBA with a concentration in sport management at her alma mater in 2010. She is married to Tommy Wade and currently resides in Greenville, N.C. with their daughter Kerrigan and son, Owen.
