After keying ECU’s defense from the inside linebacker position as a junior and senior, Brandon Williams continues to help guide Pirate tacklers as a third-year defensive graduate assistant coach.

The 2018 campaign marks Williams’ fourth overall as a coach after assisting former defensive line coach Marc Yellock as a quality control aide and contributing efforts during ECU’s on-campus recruiting activities.

A four-year letterman from 2011 to 2014, Williams turned in his best season as a senior by standing second on the squad (and fifth in the American Athletic Conference) with 124 tackles – 54 of those coming as solo hits. He was a nine-time team captain selection before earning All-AAC honors after leading the Pirates to the Birmingham Bowl.

Williams played in all 13 contests and delivered 69 tackles as a junior to earn the program’s most improved defensive player-of-the-year accolades

He graduated from ECU in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.
