A graduate transfer who officially signed a grant-in-aid agreement with East Carolina on March 29 and arrived on campus in mid-May … Received an extension of his five-year clock by the NCAA in the fall of 2016, thus has two years of eligibility while with the Pirate program ... Began collegiate career at Pac-12 Conference member Cal-Berkeley in the fall of 2012 before earning bachelor's degree after the spring semester of 2016 … Was an uplifting story off the field throughout Cal career, highlighted by his selection to the 2014 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team® - a prestigious off-the-field honor that recognizes dedication to community service by paying tribute to a select group of student-athletes who have worked positively to impact the lives of others … Was especially inspired by a tragedy during his childhood on his third birthday in 1996 when his seven-year-old sister, Essence, lost her life in a car accident he survived … Shortly after his sister's passing, along with help from his family, founded the Essence K. 2014 (California): Did not play due to (foot) injury …. Traveled to the 2015 College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Allstate Sugar Bowl to be recognized at halftime and participate in a community service project prior to the contest (was one of 22 players across all levels of football and one of 11 from the FBS level to earn a spot on the roster of the 2014 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team®) … Presented with his Allstate AFCA Good Works Team® trophy in a surprise ceremony in front of his Cal teammates following a team practice on Nov. 18 … Subject of an award-winning video titled Making A Difference … Rushed a game-high 11 times for 32 yards and one TD as the second-leading rusher in the spring game, while adding one reception for 18 yards.
