A strong redshirt freshman campaign erased any doubts about making a full recovery after suffering a serious knee injury during the spring of 2017 … Followed strong initial in-season performance with a stellar spring to impress a new coaching staff, who subsequently rewarded him with a projected starting assignment as the Pirates’ top outside “Z” receiver (to open 2019) … Collected a combined nine catches for 138 yards (15.3 ypr) in three spring scrimmages … Topped all receivers with four receptions for 81 yards in the first contest on March 30 … Hauled in a pair of passes for 14 yards during the second outing (April 6) before racking up 43 yards on three grabs in the Purple-Gold Game on April 13 … Notable on-field attributes include soft hands, quickness, agility and plenty of explosiveness.
