Lyle Jones begins his second season on coach Jeff Lebo’s East Carolina staff as a graduate assistant manager.

As a graduate assistant, Jones aids the assistant coaches in opponent scouting efforts including film breakdown, statistical analysis, and playing on the scout team in practice. He assists in on-court individual instruction and team practices, helps in the organization of scouting and recruiting efforts, and manages clothing and performance gear inventory. He travels with the team and helps with logistics, scouting, and general management on the road. Jones is responsible for monitoring class attendance, aiding in player development projects, and also helping organize and administer coach Jeff Lebo’s summer basketball camps.

Prior to enrolling at ECU, Jones graduated from the University of North Carolina with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and political science. While at UNC, he played on the junior varsity basketball team for two seasons under UNC Assistant Coach Hubert Davis. He was also a manager for the JV basketball team for one season prior to playing on the team from 2013-2015.

Jones is currently pursuing his master’s degree in sport management and intends to go into collegiate coaching full-time upon graduation.
