Maggie Hawkins, who spent two years as the director of operations for the East Carolina softball program from 2018-20, was promoted to the position of assistant coach in January of 2021.Â
Before arriving in Greenville, Hawkins was the Director of Softball at The Performance Academy (TPA) in Apex. Her responsibilities included overseeing and managing all TPA affiliated softball teams as well as directing, designing and implementing all softball events run through the facility.

After graduating from NC State in 2016, Hawkins worked as a graduate assistant coach for the Wolfpack and provided assistance to the athletics communications office – including working the NCAA Raleigh baseball Regional.

As a player, Hawkins was a standout at Hofstra from 2013-14 before transferring to NC State to complete her collegiate career. She earned Colonial Athletic Association All-Freshman Team accolades in 2013 before garnering CAA First-Team and NFCA First-Team All-Northeast Region honors as a sophomore. Hawkins was a key member of the Wolfpack's run to the NCAA Eugene Super Regional in 2015, hitting the walkoff home run against Fordham in the bottom of the seventh that clinched the regional championship in Harrisonburg, Va.
