Jonathan Kloosterman joined the East Carolina University strength and conditioning staff as a graduate assistant prior to the 2020-21 academic year before earning a promotion to full-time status in January, 2022.
A native of Strasburg, Va., Kloosterman was four-year letterman at James Madison and part of the Dukes’ 2016 FCS national championship squad under coach Mike Houston. After graduation, Kloosterman played one season professionally in Germany for the Landsberg X-Press.
During JMU’s title season, he earned first-team All-CAA honors at tight end with 24 receptions for 322 yards and a team-best seven touchdowns.
Kloosterman earned his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology with a concentration in exercise science and minor in pre-physical therapy from JMU in 2018. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in sports management at ECU.
Kloosterman, who gained experience in the field as a sports performance coach for True Athlete Performance in Chantilly, Va., is a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
