Austin King was hired as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at East Carolina University in June 2025 and works primarily with the Men and Women's Track and Field/Cross Country programs.

Prior to joining the Pirates, King served as an Athletic Training student for Appalachian State University working with their Football, Track and Field/Cross Country, and Softball teams. He also served his fall immersive at Mississippi State University working primarily with Football.

Originally from Burlington, NC. King earned his Master of Science in Athletic Training degree from Appalachian State University in May 2025. He also earned his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science degree from Appalachian State University in May 2023.

King is a Certified Athletic Trainer, licensed through the North Carolina Board of Athletic Training Examiners. He is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA), Mid-Atlantic Athletic Trainers’ Association (MAATA) and North Carolina Athletic Trainers’ Association (NCATA).

King now resides in Winterville, NC with his wife, Leah and his dog, Memphis. In his free time, he enjoys watching sports, playing golf and playing pickleball.
