Danielle Morrin was appointed assistant director of development for the Pirate Club in July of 2021 after serving as the director of life skills/community service liaison since September, 2017.

Her promotion to a departmental leadership role came after a two-year term as life skills coordinator, an internship and a notable career as a student-athlete in the Pirates’ swim program.
Â
In her capacity with the life skills program, Morrin managed life skill development and community outreach efforts for over 450 student-athletes, while also providing on-campus guidance and conference-wide initiatives to ECU’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). Additionally, she plays an active role planning and implementing various events to promote student-athlete well-being, while also organizing the department’s annual awards banquet.

A four-year letterwinner and two-time team captain, Morrin graduated Magna Cum Laude from East Carolina in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. Â

She enjoyed a decorated undergraduate career, both in and out of the pool. Morrin earned All-Conference USA honors, registered numerous medal finishes and set various program records, while also serving as an active SAAC representative and program coordinator completing 500-plus hours of community service.

Morrin was also cited for her outstanding work in the classroom with inclusion on the Dean’s List and Honor Roll, as well as being selected as the 2014 ECU Female Outstanding Scholar-Athlete-of-the-Year and the 2015 American Athletic Conference Female Institutional Scholar-of-the-Year.

The Mount Pleasant, S.C. native accepted an internship in the athletics department’s life skills division during the fall of 2015 – her final semester – before assuming the coordinator’s title in December, and subsequently, her current position in 2017.
