Although Kristy Ashley has provided diligent service to the East Carolina Athletics Office of Compliance as an assistant director beginning in August 2018, her association with university dates back 13 years earlier and includes a recent position with ECU's Office of Student Financial Aid and Office of Supplier Management.

In her current role, Ashley’s primary area of emphasis is the supervision of legislation and processes related to financial aid, the ECU Grant-in-Aid program along with student-athlete awards and benefits. She works with all 18 intercollegiate sports and also serves as a liaison to the ECU Office of Financial Aid and Cashier’s Office. She assists with Name, Image, and Likeness efforts and serves on the NIL Taskforce. Ashley is a member of the National Associate of Athletics Compliance (NAAC), while also serving as a member of ECU’s Staff Senate from 2023-2025.

Ashley earned a bachelor's degree in management & organizational development from Mount Olive College in 2007.
