Shane Harrell was promoted to head athletic trainer for football in May of 2022. He came to East Carolina as an assistant athletic trainer in July of 2021.
Prior to joining the Pirates, Harrell served as an athletic trainer for the football and women’s soccer programs at Campbell University.
Harrell also served as an athletic trainer for the men’s lacrosse, men’s golf, women’s basketball and the men’s and women’s track and field programs at High Point University.
Harrell earned his Master’s of Science in Athletic Training from Lenoir-Rhyne in May 2016. He earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Tennessee Technological University in May 2014. He is a member of National Athletic Trainers’ Association, the North Carolina Athletic Trainers’ Association and the Mid-Atlantic Athletic Trainers’ Association.
