Antonie Nealy Suspended from Football Team
10/15/2003
GREENVILLE, N.C. -- East Carolina University head football coach John Thompson today announced the suspension of sophomore defensive back Antonie Nealy.
Nealy, who has started all six games at free safety this season for the Pirates, has been suspended indefinitely for a violation of team rules.
He is expected to be replaced in the starting lineup by senior Richard Moton.
Nealy has accounted for 35 tackles this season, including a career-high 11 against Wake Forest, and has had two pass breakups. He is the younger brother of current ECU starting linebacker Kent Nealy.
The Pirates will play Conference USA foe Army on Saturday at 1 p.m. in West Point, N.Y.
