
Women's Tennis Falls to No. 6 Tar Heels

UNC won its seventh straight to improve to 10-1, while the Lady Pirates fell to 5-6.
In doubles play, Aniela Mojzis and Lee Bairos defeated East Carolina's Kirstin Buchanan and Raluca Baicu 8-6. At flight two, Kendrick Bunn and Caitlin Collins took an 8-2 victory over the Pirates' Gillie Bailey and Cristina Melicki. The freshmen duo of Sara Anundsen and Jenna Long defeated ECU's Ashley Perkenson and Sara Boseman 8-0.
All six Tar Heels took victories in singles play. Playing at the No. 1 seed, senior Lee Bairos defeated Kirstin Buchanan 6-2, 6-0. Junior Kendall Cline won at the No. 2 seed, and freshmen Caitlin Collins and Sara Anundsen took victories at the No. 3 and 4 seeds, respectively. Freshman Jenna Long and sophomore Tanja Markovic each swept their ECU opponent 6-0, 6-0.
ECU travels to UNC Greensboro next Tuesday for a 3 p.m. match.
