
Women's Tennis Falls to Charlotte, 5-2

ECU's victories came in two hard-fought matches at flights two and three, where junior Raluca Baicu and sophomore Gillie Bailey won, respectively.
Baicu posted a 6-3, 2-6, 1-0 (7) win over Charlotte's Ofra Friedman, while Bailey won in a second-set tiebreaker, 6-3, 7-6 (4), over Lindsay Morris.
Bailey, an Australia native, is now 5-0 in singles since joining the Lady Pirates for the start of the spring semester.
ECU falls to 2-3 in dual match play on the season while Charlotte improves to 1-2.
The Lady Pirates hit the road this weekend for two matches in Charleston, S.C. ECU will face host College of Charleston on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. and will return to the courts at 3 p.m. that afternoon for a match against Columbia University.
