
Pirate Baseball Cracks Top 10

The No. 9 ranking is the second -highest ranking for the Pirates in school history. The 2001 team was ranked eighth by Baseball America in the May 27, 2001 poll.
The Pirates moved up six spots this week in the Baseball America poll and made their biggest jump of the season when ECU moved up 12 spots in the Collegiate Baseball Poll. ECU is riding a 12-game winning streak after sweeping three games from Cincinnati over the weekend. East Carolina outscored the Bearcats, 60-34, and hit 15 home runs in the sweep. The final poll will be released later this evening. Going into last weekend, ECU was ranked 18th in the ESPN/Sports Weekly Coaches' Poll.
ECU will travel to play N.C. State Wednesday in Raleigh at 7 p.m.
