
Volleyball Splits with Georgia State, College of Charleston

Junior Erica Wilson added 12 kills while sophomore middle blocker Jaime Bevan hit .348 and chipped in 11 kills. Libero Johanna Bertini recorded 18 digs in the match. ECU out-hit Georgia State, .252-.189 including a .367 hitting percentage in game four. Dubenion also added three service aces for the Lady Pirates. Paige Howell and Kelley Wernert each had eight kills for ECU.
Georgia State was led by Marissa Levasseur who had 12 kills for the Lady Panthers. Alex Blenche and Robyn Van Dam each chipped in 10 kills for GSU. Howell was named to the all-tournament for East Carolina after finishing the weekend with 22 kills and seven blocks.
College of Charleston defeated ECU
College of Charleston's Amanda Timmers tallied a match-high 18 kills and Tiffany Blum added 10 kills to lead the host Lady Cougars past East Carolina in three games, 30-26, 30-18, 30-20 in Saturday's first match of the Collge of Charleston Invitational.
The Lady Cougars out-hit ECU, .317-.090 led by Timmers who hit .500 and Kaycie Carr who hit .714.
ECU out-blocked College of Charleston, 11-8, with Paige Howell putting up five blocks for ECU. Jaime Bevan and Mignon Dubenion each finished with six kills to lead the Lady Pirates. Erica Wilson, Kelley Wernert and Howell each tallied five kills.
East Carolina has the mid-week off before hosting William & Mary next Friday at 7 p.m.
