Women's Tennis Opens Season With Two Wins

Gillie Bailey posted victories in each match, rallying from an opening set loss to Elizabeth Winokur of Georgetown to win in three and recording a straight sets victory over Larissa Santos of Old Dominion.
Senior Raluca Baicu also rallied from an opening set loss to win against both Georgetown and Old Dominion. Luiza Borges and Hannah Priest posted straight set victories over the Hoyas as did Mireia Gol against the Monarchs.
In the only doubles match of the day, the ECU team of Kristin Buchanan and Alex Smith defeated Eileen Boyle and Michelle DiCocco of Georgetown in straight sets.
The Pirates continue play at the VCU Invitational on Saturday with two more matches.
