
Pirate Baseball To Hold Purple-Gold World Series

GREENVILLE, N.C. - The 2007 East Carolina baseball team will conclude its fall practice this weekend with the first of three intra-squad scrimmages at Lewis Field at Clark-LeClair Stadium Friday night at 7:30 p.m.
The Pirates, who started the 13-day practice session on Sept. 11, will also play a nine inning simulated game on Sunday, Sept. 24 at 2 p.m. and Monday, Sept. 25 at 5 p.m., with free admission to all Pirate fans.
Under the direction of first-year head coach Billy Godwin, the Pirates finished the 2006 season with a 33-26 overall record, which included wins over nationally-ranked Rice, Tulane (twice) and N.C. State, as well as Houston.
The Pirates will resume individual workouts Oct. 2 through Dec. 6 and are expected to report back as a team on Jan. 10, 2007 to prepare for the upcoming season.
