GREENVILLE, N.C. - Despite a 2-2 week that saw East Carolina's 14-game winning streak snapped at the hands of Tulane, the Pirates still find themselves ranked in the top 25 in three of the four major polls released Monday afternoon.
The Pirates, who are 21-8 overall and 4-2 in Conference USA play, dropped four spots this week in the Baseball America poll (No. 22) and ESPN/USA Today Coaches' Poll (No. 24), while falling two places in the Rivals.com poll (No. 25) and five in the Collegiate Baseball Poll (No. 26). The National Collegiate Baseball Writer's Association poll will be released late Monday evening.
No. 22 East Carolina will travel to in-state rival N.C. State Wednesday night for a 6 p.m. (EDT) clash against the Wolfpack before hosting No. 8 Rice in a three-game C-USA series inside Clark-LeClair Stadium beginning Friday.
