
ECU Announces Baseball's Annual Meet the Pirates

GREENVILLE, N.C. - East Carolina University baseball fans will get their first chance to meet the 2008 Pirates up close and personal on Saturday, February 16, as ECU hosts its eighth annual "Meet the Pirates" luncheon.
Scheduled to start at approximately 11 a.m. at the Murphy Center's Harvey Banquet Hall, "Meet the Pirates" offers fans a chance to get autographs and photos of the ECU baseball team and third-year head coach Billy Godwin, as well as enjoy a catered lunch with the Pirate coaches and players. The catered meal will feature a baseball menu with hot dogs, hamburgers, side items and dessert.
A limited number of tickets are available at $8 for adults, $5 for children (12 and under), and $5 for ECU students (with valid One Card) and advance reservations are required.
Tickets are on sale now and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations will be accepted through 5 p.m. on Monday, February 11th. Fans can reserve their seats by ordering online at www.ECUPirates.com or by call the Athletic Ticket Office at 1-800-DIAL-ECU.
After lunch fans are encouraged to head over to Clark-LeClair Stadium to enjoy a Pirate Baseball intra-squad scrimmage. Later that evening the 2008 baseball team will be introduced at the men's basketball game against Southern Miss at 7 p.m.
The Pirates will open the 2008 campaign on the road against the University of South Carolina. The first home series of the 2008 season in Clark-LeClair Stadium starts February 29 at 3 p.m. against Monmouth. For ticket information, call 1-800-DIAL-ECU.
