
Baseball Starts Fall Practice

GREENVILLE, N.C. - Following a successful season that saw East Carolina advance to the NCAA Chapel Hill Super Regional, the 2010 edition of the Pirates will open fall practice Monday afternoon at Clark-LeClair Stadium under the direction of fifth-year Head Coach Billy Godwin.
The Pirates, who have made nine NCAA appearances in the last 10 seasons, claimed the 2009 Conference USA Regular season title and hosted its first ever on-campus NCAA Regional on the way to a 46-20 overall record.
ECU welcomes back 20 letterwinners including All-Americans Seth Maness and Kyle Roller; Freshman All-American Kevin Brandt, All C-USA performers Brad Mincey and Trent Whitehead and eighth round draft pick Devin Harris.
Also stepping onto the diamond are eight new faces, which consist of junior college transfer Daniel Warzon (Young Harris), as well as seven freshmen: Bryan Bass, Chris Gosik, Jake Harris, D.J. Jauss, Tyler Joyner, Tanner Merritt and John Wooten.
The Pirates will continue fall workouts until Tuesday, Oct. 6 when they play their annual three-game Purple-Gold World Series which will be played at Clark-LeClair Stadium.
