Elon, N.C. - The East Carolina women's tennis squad enjoyed a strong showing at the Elon Fall Invitational last weekend at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center, recording a combined 14 wins in singles and doubles competition.
Senior Tamara Sachs and junior Natalie Collins led the Pirate charge with a 3-1 record after dropping their opening matches. Petra Vogel and Abby Richmond posted a 2-1 record with both falling in the semi-finals of their singles brackets.
The tandem of Vogel and Collins proved to be a force in the doubles bracket where they took first place after pushing past opponents from Longwood, East Tennessee State, and Appalachian State.
The Lady Pirates return to action October 15-16 at the UNC Greensboro Doubles Invitational.
