IRVING, Texas -East Carolina's Natalia Favoreto and Meghan Coyne were named this week's Conference USA Swimmer and Diver-of-the-Week as announced by the league office, Thursday. Favoreto posted the fastest times in C-USA this season in each of her four events and Coyne added two more wins to her resume in the one-meter and three-meter boards. Both led the Pirates to a pair of victories in a tri-meet against Campbell and College of Charleston.
Favoreto led the Pirates to a pair of victories in a tri-meet against Campbell and College of Charleston last weekend. She won 200 medley relay with a time of 1:46.75 and the 100 breaststroke 1:03.65, which was 2 tenths (.2) off the pool record. With a time of 23.10, Favoreto added another win in the 50 freestyle and was 1 tenth (.1) off her NCAA "B" cut. She finished her day with a win in the 200 IM with a time of 2:07.00. This is her first Swimmer-of-the-Week accolade.
Coyne won both the one-meter and three-meter boards this past weekend. She posted a score of 282.75 on the one-meter board and 300.60 on the three-meter. This is her ninth career Diver-of-the-Week honor and third this season.
