CHAPEL HILL, N.C. --- The East Carolina men's and women's swimming and diving teams posted 24 finals performances on the second day of competition at the 2010 Nike Cup.
The women's relay teams highlighted the night. Anna Gibas, Natalia Favoreto, Pamela Hess and Jenna Stewart teamed up to finish seventh in the 200 medley relay, while the 800 free rely foursome of Kelsey Brosi, Holly Bernoto, Michelle Gadowry and Brittany Radcliffe earned an eighth-place finish.
Stewart, Hess, Favoreto, Brosi and Gibas each qualified for the finals in an individual event, but didn't record a scoring performance.
Meghan Rauscher qualified for the finals in the 100 fly and 400 IM. Anna Holland Lawrence and Kristen Giese joined Rausher in the 400 IM. Courtney Harris and Kylie Francis were also individual finalists in the 100 breast and 100 back, respectively.
Junior Meghan Coyne recorded the Pirates best placement of the day as finished sixth on the one-meter board.
Roman Sandler was the only Pirate on the men's side to qualify for the finals in multiple events, reaching the finals of the 100 fly and 100 back. An additional nine Pirates qualified for the finals in nine events.
The Nike Cups concludes on Saturday.
