East Carolina won a fifth-straight game for the first time since winning five in-a-row from Nov. 25-Dec. 13, 2008.
Coach Jeff Lebo matched former Pirate skipper Joe Dooley for the best start through his first nine games as ECU head coach, 7-2. Lebo became the third Pirate coach to win his first six home games. Dave Patton won his first six in 1974-75 and Dooley won his first nine in 1995-96.
ECU scored over 90 points for the first time since netting 91 in an overtime win against Rice on Feb. 14, 2009.
East Carolina won its ninth straight game against a non-Division I opponent and 23rd in the last 24 games.
The Pirates grabbed a season-high 51 rebounds, besting its previous season-high of 41 set against UNC Greensboro (Nov. 27). It was the first time they garnered 50 rebounds since the 2009-10 season-opener against UVa.-Wise (52).
The Pirates held their fifth-straight opponent under 40 percent shooting.
East Carolina distributed 20 assists for the second time this season. It also dished out 21 against UNC Greensboro.
PLAYER NOTES
Senior Brock Young became the 24th player in school history to score 1,000 points in a career. He currently ranks 22nd on the list with 1,020 points.
Young made a career-high four 3-pointers.
Senior Jamar Abrams played in his 100th game as a Pirate.
Freshman Robert Sampson led East Carolina in rebounding for the first time in his career, finishing with a game and career-high eight boards.
Sophomore Wakefield Ellison scored a career-high eight points, grabbed a career-high four rebounds and played a career-best 25 minutes.
