
Swimming Team Named Scholar All-America

GREENVILLE, N.C. - The East Carolina University women's swimming and diving team received College Swimming Coaches Association (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Team honors after finishing the 2010 spring semester with a 3.1 team grade point average (GPA). The Pirates were one of 111 teams to receive the accolade.
The CSCAA selects and honors teams as Scholar All-American Teams twice a year, once after each semester (fall and spring). To earn CSCAA Scholar All-American Team honors, a swimming and diving team must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA for the semester being recognized. ECU posted a 3.0 GPA at the conclusion of the 2009 fall semester.
Stephanie Hughes, Hannah Lee and Ashley Mullen each received the Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Medal for achieving a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or better. An additional 14 lady swimmers were named to the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll for maintaining a cumulative GPA of above 3.0.
