IRVING, Texas - East Carolina's Jenna Stewart has been named this week's Conference USA Swimmer-of-the-Week as announced by the league office. Stewart recorded a pair of individual victories and helped the 200 and 400 free relay teams to first-place finishes that led the Pirates in a win over Old Dominion.
Stewart recorded a first-place finish in all four events in which she competed Saturday against Old Dominion. She swam the fourth leg of the 200-medley relay and the second leg of the 400 free relay, helping both teams to first-place finishes. She also touched first in the 50 free (23.59) and the 100 free (51.20). This is Stewart's first Swimmer-of-the-Week honor this season and third of her career.
Stewart will lead the Pirates into their final home meets of the season this weekend. ECU will host South Carolina at 4 p.m. on Friday and then welcome Catawba and Gardner-Webb to Minges Natatorium on Saturday.
