
Vogel Earns C-USA All-Academic Honors

IRVING, Texas - East Carolina's Petra Vogel was among three seniors, one juniors and two sophomores who were named to the 2011 Conference USA Women's Tennis All-Academic Team according to an announcement by the league office.
The all-academic team consists of student-athletes who have earned a 3.2 cumulative grade point average or better and are a regular participant on their team.
Vogel, a sophomore who earned all-conference honors for her play on the court as a freshman last season, owns a 3.934 grade point average as a pre-health major. She will enter action in the C-USA Championship Tournament Thursday with an 11-11 singles record this spring while teaming with Natalie Collins and Tamara Sachs for a 15-6 doubles mark. The Zizers, Switzerland native is a three-time ECU Director of Athletics Honor Roll and Dean's List selectee, and a two-time member of the Chancellor's List.
Other selections include Marshall senior Michaela Kissell, Memphis sophomore Courtney Collins, Rice senior Rebekka Hanle, Southern Miss junior Elja van Berlo and UAB senior Jenny Cape.
