
ECU Ranked No. 25 In BA And NCBWA Polls

GREENVILLE, N.C. - Following its first series sweep in Conference USA action and earning the No. 3 seed in the up coming 2011 C-USA Championships presented by Trustmark, the East Carolina baseball team earned a pair of national rankings Monday afternoon.
ECU (37-18) appears in both Baseball America and the National Collegiate Baseball writers Association (NCBWA) polls at No. 25 this week, while receiving votes in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches' poll for the 11-straight week. This weeks rankings also marks the third time they have appeared in the polls in 2011 (No. 29/NCBWA/Apr. 25 and No. 30/NCBWA/May 16).
The Pirates are in Pearl, Miss. for the championships, which gets underway on Wednesday, May 25. As the third seed, ECU will square off with sixth seed Houston in game one at 5 p.m. (EDT) on Wednesday before playing No. 7 Tulane (May 26 at 5 p.m.) and No. 2 Southern Miss (May 27 at 8:30 p.m.).
