
Kiraly Earns Silver Medal At Hungarian Championships

DEBRECEN, Hungary --- East Carolina rising sophomore Attila Kiraly finished second in the 400m Individual Medley at the 2011 Hungarian Long Course National Championships held last month in his native country. Kiraly qualified for the championship finals in three of the four events in which he competed.
Kiraly captured the silver medal in the 400m IM with a sterling time of 4:31.73, 10 seconds behind Gergely Gyurta who took over the top spot in the world rankings with the victory.
Kiraly placed fifth in the 100m backstroke, sixth in the 200m backstroke and ninth in the 200m IM.
He helped the 4x100m medley relay team win the bronze medal by swimming the backstroke leg of the event.
