Complete Purple-Gold World Series Rosters
GREENVILLE, N.C. - The East Carolina baseball team will conclude its fall practice this weekend with their annual Purple-Gold World Series at Lewis Field inside Clark-LeClair Stadium starting Thursday, Nov. 6.
The Pirates, who began team practice on Oct. 2, will play the first of three six-inning contests starting Nov. 6 at 4 p.m. (EST), followed by game two on Friday, Nov. 7 at 4 p.m. before concluding the annual event on Saturday, Nov. 8 at 4 p.m. Admission is free to all Pirate fans.
Prior to the Purple-Gold Draft Tuesday night, first-year head coach Cliff Godwin named seniors Hunter Allen (Gold) and Reid Love (Purple) player managers for their respective squads.
Redshirt Junior David Lucroy (RHP) will toe the rubber for the Gold in game one, while Love (LHP) will counter for the Purple squad. The rest of the pitching rotation will be determined as the series progresses.
Godwin, who will serve as the commissioner, has indicated that Purple will be the home team for Games 1 and 3, and the winner of the series will be decided by run differential - total runs scored in the series, not win/loss record.
