MISCELLANEOUS NOTES
? Tonight's game was the first meeting between the Pirates and Rattlers in 45 years. Their only previous meeting was in Tampa, Fla. on Dec, 26, 1969. ECU won that game 71-57.
? East Carolina improved to 2-0 all-time against FAMU and won its ninth consecutive game against a MEAC team.
? The Pirates won their final game before Christmas break for the first time since beating Gardner Webb on Dec. 22, 2011. Each of the previous two seasons ECU played its final game before Christmas on the road: at Massachusetts (2012) and at NC State (2013).
TEAM NOTES
? East Carolina rallied from a halftime deficit for the second time this year. They overcame a three-point halftime deficit to James Madison 10 days ago and posted a 70-58 victory. Tonight, ECU trailed 29-27 at intermission.
? East Carolina scored a season-high 29 points off turnovers. It was the third time this season the Pirates scored more than 25 points off its opponents turnovers 27 vs. NC Wesleyan, 24 vs. James Madison).
? Nine of the 11 players that competed for the Pirates tonight were credited with a steal. B.J. Tyson, Terry Whisnant and Caleb White had two steals each.
? The Pirates won their fourth consecutive game inside Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum and improved to 5-1 at home this season.
? East Carolina improved to 5-1 this season when shooting 50 percent or better from the field in at least one half of play. The Pirates connected on 51.5 percent of its field goal attempts in the second half.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
? After being held to three points Saturday against UNCW, Caleb White scored double figures for the ninth time this season, finishing with 19 points. He scored seventeen points in the second half.
? White matched his career-high with four 3-pointers. It was the third time this season that he made four 3s in a game and the fourth time in his career.
? Michel-Ofik Nzege scored double figures for the first time in five games. He last time he reached double figures was against Central Connecticut on Nov. 30, netting 18 points. Nzege finished the game with 14 points.
? Nzege saw 31 minutes of action, topping the 30-minute mark for the first time in his ECU career.
? B.J. Tyson was back in double figures for the seventh time in eight games. He had scored double figures in six consecutive games before his streak was snapped Saturday at UNCW. Tyson dropped in 11 points tonight.
? Terry Whisnant distributed a season-high four assists, matching his career-best of four set against UNCG on Dec. 11, 2011 while at Florida State.
