GREENVILLE, N.C. - East Carolina sophomore Scott Kent has been named American Athletic Conference Male Diver-of-the-Week, the league announced Tuesday afternoon. It is the first weekly honor of his career.
Kent earned the honor after winning both the 1- and 3-meter competitions against UNC Wilmington. He registered NCAA qualifying marks in both events, scoring a 314.03 in the 1-meter and a 337.98 in the 3-meter, both personal-best scores.
"Scottie has been working extremely hard this year and it is truly paying off," ECU Diving Coach Ryan Hunt said. "He is right where he needs to be heading into the Nike Cup and I believe he will continue to have a great year."
East Carolina returns to dual meet competition November 7 with the swimming teams squaring off against Campbell and Gardner-Webb in Buies Creek, N.C., while the diving teams will be in action in Greensboro with a meet against Clemson and Richmond.
