
Rokas Cepulis Invited Back To The NCAA Swimming Championships

GREENVILLE, N.C. - East Carolina senior Rokas Cepulis has been invited to compete in the NCAA Division I Men's Swimming & Diving Championships for the second consecutive season. The championships will be hosted by the University of Iowa at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center (CRWC) in Iowa City, Iowa, March 26-28.
Cepulis, a native of Siauliai, Lithuania, will compete in the both the 100 and 200 breaststroke. Last season he finished 35th in the preliminaries of the 100 breast and 31st in the 200 breast preliminaries.
Cepulis swept the breaststroke events at the 2015 American Athletic Conference Championships, capturing gold in the 100 and 200. He set ECU records in each event during the championship meet, breaking his own school record in both events.
A total of 270 participants (235 swimmers and 35 divers) will compete in the championships. Student-athletes qualified for the swimming portion of the championships by meeting the established minimum time for the events in which they entered.
ESPN3 will stream finals sessions Friday and Saturday live. Additionally, ESPNU will air a 90-minute show at 5 p.m. ET on Wednesday, April 8.
