Community Corner Unveiled for Pirate Football
July 29, 2015 | General
GREENVILLE, N.C. - With a fan base second to none, the East Carolina University Department of Athletics has developed an initiative, with the citizens of Greenville and Pitt County in mind, as a way to give back and provide them with a special gift to say thank you for their continued support.
ECU Athletics is proud to announce the creation of the "Community Corner" at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium starting this football season. The "Community Corner" will save fans, on average, over 80 percent off their single game ticket purchase while hopefully strengthening the size, interest and passion of Pirate Nation on game days.
The "Community Corner," which includes nearly 1,200 reserved seats in Sections 213 and 214, will feature tickets available on a single-game basis for the rate of only $10 per ticket. All home games this season, including Virginia Tech, will be made available. However, customers will only be allowed to select one game and only able to purchase up to four tickets for that game. This purchasing structure will provide more members of the local community to take advantage of this opportunity. "Community Corner" tickets will go on sale tomorrow, Thursday, July 30, at 9 a.m. and are expected to sell quickly given the limited availability. This offer is ONLY available via ECU's Online Ticket Center and tickets for the reserved seating will ONLY be sent to customers using the "print at home" option. A discounted processing fee of $3 (another savings of $7 from normal fees) will be applied to each order.
"Our desire is to give everyone in our community and the surrounding region a chance to experience the passion of Pirate Football in Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium," ECU Director of Athletics Jeff Compher said. "This Christmas in July offer provides a very affordable opportunity for families, friends and fans to be a part of the exciting game day atmosphere of ECU football."
The Pirates will open the 2015 season at home against Towson inside Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 5 with a 6 p.m. (ET) scheduled kickoff.
Season tickets remain on sale with packages starting as low as $165 each, in addition to 3-game mini-plan packages which are also available for $135. Purchases may be made via ECUPirates.com or by calling the Athletics Ticket Office at (252) 737-4500.
Sales for all single-game ticket locations will begin on Monday, Aug. 3 at 9 a.m.
