Team Result: East Carolina finishes 5th out of 16 teams (55-over, 919)
Top Finisher: Lisa Pettersson (7-over, 224) – 6th Place

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina women's golf team posted its third-straight Top 5 finish of the season carding a 54-hole score of 919 (55-over) claiming fifth at the 2016 Greenville Regional Preview. The two-day event was being held at the par-72, 6,133-yard Brook Valley Country Club.
Following suspended play in the second round, the Pirates (48-11) fired a 13-over par 301 Tuesday during final round action to pick up wins over four Top 45 programs including No. 10 Illinois, No. 32 Oregon, No. 40 Denver and No. 44 Old Dominion. No. 54 TCU (895) won the team title finishing 18 strokes ahead of No. 39 Augusta (913), while No. 69 Kansas State (914) and No. 60 Clemson (917) joined ECU in rounding out the Top 5.
Junior Lisa Pettersson posted her fourth top 6 finish of the season with a tournament score of 224 (7-over) after posting rounds of 73, 78 and 73. Freshman Dorthea Forbrigd recorded her third consecutive top 15 finish (tied 14th) with a score of 229 (13-over) following rounds of 78, 74 and 77.
Sophomore Kate Law claimed a share of 23rd with a score of 232 (16-over), while freshman Siranon Shoomee (234) and sophomore Carley Cox (240) tied for 32nd and 57th place. Playing as individuals for the Pirates were freshman Grace Yatawara, who finished tied for 65th with a score of 242, and sophomore Catherine Ashworth (249/81st).
The Pirates will be back in action Oct. 23-25 when they participate in the Cardinal Cup in Louisville, Ky.
