GREENVILLE, N.C. - No. 16 East Carolina will hit the road for the first of eight-straight games away from Clark-LeClair Stadium when it travels to Elon for a midweek clash Tuesday, April 5. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. (ET) at Walter C. Latham Park.
THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT THE GAME
• Elon took game one of the home and home series earlier this year defeating ECU at Lewis Field inside Clark-LeClair Stadium 8-7 in 10 innings… The Pirates own a 45-33-1 all-time record in the series and last won on May 12, 2015 7-0 in seven innings.
• The Pirates are ranked in the national polls for the sixth consecutive week garnering a No. 16 ranking by D1Baseball, No. 22 by Baseball America, No. 29 by National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association, while receiving votes in USA Today/Coaches poll ... They first entered the polls after picking up a road series win over No. 4 Virginia (Feb. 27-29) - the first over a Top 5 program since 2002.

• East Carolina (19-9, 2-1 AAC) is coming off a 3-1 week where it picked up wins over UNC Wilmington (9-6) and two against then No. 15 Houston (3-1, 5-1) in American Athletic Conference action ... It was the Pirates second series win over a top 15 program this year (other at then No. 4 Virginia) ... ECU is about to embark on an eight game road trip going to Elon, Tulane, UNC Wilmington and Memphis ... The Pirates own a 4-3 record on the road and are 15-6 at home.

GODWIN AT A GLANCE
• Cliff Godwin, who was named the 16th head coach in school history on June 25, 2014, was a four-year letterwinner for the Pirates from 1998-2001 ... He has been a part of eight NCAA Regional and two College World Series teams at the Division I level as an assistant coach and head coach ... Godwin guided the Pirates to a 40-win season, an American Athletic Conference Tournament title and a berth in the Coral Gables Regional -- its first NCAA Regional since 2012 -- in his first year at the helm ... Named 2015 AAC Coach-of-the-Year and was inducted into the George Whitfield Hall of Fame in January of 2016 ... Currently owns a 59-31 overall record (.656 percentage) as a head coach ...
