GREENVILLE, N.C. --- The ECU men and women's swimming and diving team swept a dual meet from UNCW at Minges Natatorium Saturday, winning 29 of 32 events overall. The men posted a 169-119 victory while the women recorded a 170-119 triumph.

NEWS & NOTES

ECU claimed the top three positions in the women's 100-yard breaststroke, men's one and three-meter diving, women's 100-yard freestyle and the women's 200-yard breaststroke.
The Pirates finished first and second in 11 additional events.
Senior Julie Lajoie was a four-event winner, claiming individual wins in the women's 200-yard butterfly (2:02.14), 200-yard backstroke (2:02.82) and the 200-yard IM (2:05.75). She was also part of the first-place medley relay team.
Senior Bridie Burke touched first in a pair of individual events, capturing first-place in the women's 200-yard freestyle (1:52.61) and 100-yard freestyle (51.62) in addition to helping the 200-yard freestyle relay team to victory.
Sophomore Kaitlyn Hauser took home first-place in the women's 500 (5:05.31) and 1000-yard (10:29.35) freestyle. She was victorious by nearly nine seconds (8.93) in the 1000 free.
Senior Logan Graumann was part of both of the ECU women's relay victories in the 200-yard and freestyle race as well as claiming first-place in the women's 100-yard backstroke (57.22), winning by 3.29 seconds.
Senior Vendela Norrman swept the women's breaststroke events, edging out teammate Paulina Majszutowicz (-2.08) in the 100 breast and Yara Fakhry (-7.90) in the 200 breast.
Senior Alicia Roueche swept the women's diving events with a score of 333.08 on the three-meter springboard and 267.98 on the one-meter springboard.
Freshman Jacek Arentewicz and sophomore Magnus Andersen each won three events for the ECU men's team. Arentewicz was triumphant in the 100-yard breaststroke (56.77), 200-yard breaststroke (2:05.20) and 200-yard medley relay. Andersen captured first-place in the 200-yard freestyle (1:41.89), 200-yard backstroke (1:50.94) and 200-yard IM (1:54.24).
Sophomore Grega Popovich (9:42.61) and junior Manuel Alvarez (9:44.53) finished one, two in the men's 1000-yard freestyle and the 500-yard freestyle with Popovich (4:39.77) touching 3.22 seconds ahead of Alvarez (4:42.99).
Junior Tristan Taylor was a dual event winner, capturing first-place in the men's 100-yard backstroke (50.80) and 200-yard medley relay.
