GREENVILLE, N.C. --- ECU will close out the non-conference portion of its 2017-18 schedule Thursday against Grambling State on Star Wars Night inside Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum.
Fans are encouraged to dress in their favorite Star Wars costume and take pictures with the themed props located throughout the concourse. There will be a variety of Star Wars themed promotions during the games.
Lower bowl tickets are only $5 as part of ECU's Holiday Hoops ticket promotion.
The Pirates will be looking to record its fourth win in its last five after suffering a 69-50 loss to Charlotte Monday night. Isaac Fleming scored a team-high 14 points in defeat, while Kentrell Barkley posted his third double-double of the year with 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Fleming (14.3 ppg) and Barkley (13.0 ppg) rank second and third on the team in scoring behind senior B.J. Tyson, who ranks 12th in The American with 15.1 points per game.
Fleming has scored double figures in a career-long six consecutive games, averaging nearly 18 ppg during the streak.
"Isaac is a tremendous driver of the ball," ECU Interim Head Coach Michael Perry. "He can get into the paint against any team. He's very creative."
Grambling State will be playing its 11th road game of the season Thursday, which will be the Pirates' 10th home game. The Tigers are 4-7 overall and 3-7 on the road this season with wins at Rio Grande Valley, Georgia Tech and Southeastern Louisiana.
Ivy Smith, Jr. leads the Tigers with 14.7 points per game followed by Axel Mpoyo with 11.7 ppg and Diontae Jones with 11.2 ppg.
The Pirates will be going for their third straight win over the Tigers in as many seasons. ECU opened the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons with a win over Grambling State.
