Williams Garners Conference Freshman of the Week Honors

GREENVILLE, N.C. – ECU freshman Ariyana Williams has been named the American Athletic Conference  Freshman of the Week, according to an announcement by the league office Tuesday afternoon.

Williams is the first member of ECU's women's basketball team to receive AAC Freshman of the Week of honors since ECU joined the AAC in 2014.
The Morganton, N.C., native scored a career-high 34 points in a 103-37 win over Savannah State on Dec. 20. Williams shot 60 percent from the field (12-for-20) and from three-point range (6-for-10). She is averaging 12 points per contest and has recorded double-figures in nine consective games.
ECU returns to action Thursday, Dec. 28, to host Maryland-Eastern Shore in Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
