RESULT
East Carolina earned its first road win of the season Tuesday night as it held off Tulane for a 76-73 win at Fogelman Arena in New Orleans. The Pirates trailed by five at halftime, but surged ahead in the opening two minutes of the second half. Six lead changes ensued before the Pirates went ahead for good with 31 seconds to play. ECU shot 58.1 percent after halftime, led by 17 second half points from Caleb White, and finished the game shooting 48.3 percent.

TURNING POINT
Andre Washington blocked Cameron Reynolds' game-tying put back attempt after Melvin Frazier had missed a pair of free throws. Washington then made 1-of-2 free throws with 31 seconds remaining to give the Pirates a one possession lead. Colin Slater made 1-of-2 free throws with seven seconds left to make it 75-73. Kentrell Barkley was then fouled and also made 1-of-2 at the charity stripe, leaving Tulane a chance to tie. Slater's 3 was off the mark.

ECU PLAYER-OF-THE-GAME
Washington scored 11 points, grabbed eight or rebounds and blocked a career-high seven shots. It was his third consecutive double digit scoring performance and third game in the last five with at least five blocks. Washington has 86 blocks on the season and is four shy of the school single-season record.

TULANE PLAYER-OF-THE-GAME
Cameron Reynolds scored 22 points on 8-of-16 shooting, including 3-of-7 outside the 3-point arc. He also grabbed six rebounds, while playing 39 minutes.

GAME NOTES
ECU surpassed its overall (13) and conference win total (5) from a year ago ... The Pirates won at Tulane for the fourth consecutive time and earned their first season sweep of the Green Wave since 2010 ...East Carolina's 47 second half points were its most points in a half this season … The Pirates only committed four turnovers in the second half after 10 first half giveaways … After losing its first 13 games of the season when trailing at halftime, ECU has won two of its last three ... In addition to White and Washington, to other Pirates scored double figures with Kentrell Barkley scoring 17 and Jeremy Sheppard adding 16 … Barkley scored double figures for the 10^th straight game … Deng Riak tied Washington for the team-lead in rebounding with eight … White played in his 124^th career game, tying Jamar Abrams (2007-11) for most career games played … White moved into fifth-place on the school's career scoring list with 1,497.
