
ECU Captures Three Medals On Day One Of AAC Indoor Championships

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – East Carolina had three athletes finish on the podium on day one of the AAC Indoor Championships at the Birmingham Crossplex.

The men stand in fifth place with 20 points while the women are seventh and collected 15 points.

Senior Aminah Ghaffar took third place in the pentathlon, garnering 3,488 points and winning six points for the Pirate women in the team standings.

In the men's weight throw, sophomore Ryan Davis and senior Adam Manns captured second and third place with respective tosses of 19.91 and 19.76 meters. Aleks Rapp of Tulsa won the gold medal at 20.02 meters.

The majority of the meet kicks off Saturday morning and will feature a number of running finals as well as various field events.
