CORAL GABLES, Fla. – East Carolina sophomore Kate Law posted a second-round score of 71 (3-under par) Tuesday moving into a tie for 15th place at the Hurricane Invitational. The three-day, 54-hole event is being held at the par-72, 6,150 yard Biltmore Golf Course.
Law (146), who moved up 19 spots on Tuesday, shot and even par 36 on the front nine opening with a birdie on the first hole followed by seven pars and a bogey on No. 9. After another bogey on the tenth hole, she birdied three of the next eight holes with four pars and a bogey to close the back nine with a 1-under 35.
Junior Lisa Pettersson (151) moved up 11 spots and is tied for 43rd after shooting a two-over par 74. Rounding out the Pirates roster are freshmen Dorthea Forbrigd (152/t50), Siranon Shoomee (152/t50) and sophomore Carley Cox (154/t61).
Forty-sixth ranked Louisville (574) leads No. 16 Northwestern (577) by three shots heading into final round action Wednesday. No. 34 Michigan (582) is third followed by second-ranked Barry (588) and No. 14 Miami (591). No. 49 ECU (599) moved up four spots into a tenth place after carding a second-round score of 294.
