CORAL GABLES, Fla. – No. 49 East Carolina posted a final round 287 (1-under par) moving up four spots in the standings and finishing sixth at the Hurricane Invitational. The three-day, 54-hole event is being held at the par-72, 6,150 yard Biltmore Golf Course.

The Pirates (71-32-1), who carded the fifth lowest score of the day, finished 22-over par (886) and three shots behind Barry (883) for fifth place in the standings. Sixteenth-ranked Northwestern (859) claimed the team title with a 6-under par 282 finishing seven strokes ahead of No. 34 Michigan (866). Rounding out the top five were No. 46 Louisville (871), No. 14 Miami (877) and Barry.

ECU freshman Dorthea Forbrigd recorded her fifth Top-15 placement of the season with a share of 13th after carding a personal-best round of 67 (5-under) for a three-day score of 219, one off her career-low round. On the day, she registered six birdies (five on the front nine), one bogey and 11 pars.

Sophomore Kate Law (221) claimed a share of 20th place after her final round of 75 (3-over par). On the front nine she posted a pair of birdies, four bogeys and two pars for a 38, while collecting two more birdies and six pars to go along with a double-bogey for a 37. Rounding out the Pirates roster were junior Lisa Pettersson (223/t33), freshman Siranon Shoomee (225/t42) and sophomore Carley Cox (232/t62).

The Pirates will be back in action March 9-10 when they participate in the River Landing Classic in Wallace, N.C.
