
ECU In Third Place After 36 Holes At River Landing Classic

WALLACE, N.C. ā No. 49 East Carolina currently sits in third place at the 2017 River Landing Classic following rounds of 291 and 297 Thursday afternoon. The two-day, 54-hole event is being held at the par-72, 6,082-yard River Landing Club.
Junior Lisa Pettersson paced the Pirates posting a 36-hole score of 144 (73-71) and currently sits in third place at even par. Pettersson tallied eight birdies, three bogeys, two double bogeys and 22 pars on the day and is six shots out of first (Hee Ying Loy/East Tennessee State) and one out of second place (Hailey Hrynewich/Ohio).
Freshman Dorthea Forbriged (75-74) and sophomore Carley Cox (72-77) are tied for 18th with a score of 149 (5-over par). Rounding out the Pirates roster are freshman Siranon Shoomee (71-80=151) and sophomore Kate Law (79-75=154) who are tied for 28th and 43rd.
Playing as individuals for ECU are sophomore Catherin Ashworth (73-75) who is tied for 14th with a score of 148 (4-over par) and freshman Grace Yatawara (78-82=160) which owns a share of 59th place.
East Tennessee State leads the 11-team field with an 8-over par 584 (288-296) followed by Penn State (288-298=586). Rounding out the top five are the Pirates, Chattanooga (292-299=591) and UNC Wilmington (297-298=595).
