
ECU Finishes In Third At River Landing Classic

Final Results
WALLACE, N.C. ā No. 49 East Carolina carded a final round 299 (11-over par) to finish third at the 2017 River Landing Classic Friday afternoon. The two-day, 54-hole event is being held at the par-72, 6,082-yard River Landing Club.
Junior Lisa Pettersson (73-71-76) and freshman Siranon Shoomee (71-80-69) paced the Pirates both tying for sixth place with scores of 220 (4-over). Pettersson tallied four birdies, eight bogeys and six pars for a 4-over par 76 (38-38). Shoomee carded a personal-best round of 69 (34-35) which included three birdies and 15 pars for a career-best finish.
Freshman Dorthea Forbrigd (75-74-79) and sophomore Carley Cox (72-77-79) both finished tied for 29th with scores of 228 (12-over) after each carded round of 79 (7-over). Sophomore Kate Law (79-75-75) finished tied for 32nd. Playing as individuals for the Pirates were sophomore Catherine Ashworth (73-75-75=223) and freshman Grace Yatawara (78-82-81=241) who finished tied for 14th and 56th.
Penn State (878/14-over) took home the team title finishing seven strokes ahead of East Tennessee State (885/21-over). Rounding out the top five were the Pirates, UNC Wilmington (891/27-over) and Ohio (900/36-over).
ECU (79-34-1) will be back in action on Monday, Mar. 20 when it participates in the Briar Creek Invitational hosted by College of Charleston.
