JONES ISLAND, S.C. – Sophomore Kate Law carded a 36-hole score of 142 (2-under par) and currently sits in a tie for ninth place at the 2017 Briar's Creek Invitational. The two-day, 54-hole event is being held at the par-72, 6,101-yard Golf Club at Briar's Creek.
Law posted rounds of 73 and 69, which included 11 total birdies, seven bogeys, one double-bogey and 17 pars as she sits five shots out of first place. Laura Fuenfstueck (College of Charleston) and Olivia Cason (Louisville) currently occupy a share of first place with scores of 137 (7-under par).
Junior Lisa Pettersson is tied for 41st with a score of 148 (4-over par) after rounds of 71 and 77. The freshman duo of Siranon Shoomee (73-76) and Dorthea Forbrigd (74-75) are tied for 48th at 149 (5-over par), while sophomore Catherine Ashworth (77-83=160) is tied for 88th.
Sixth-ranked Florida (563) holds a 10-shot lead over Campbell (573) after the first two rounds of play. No. 27 Illinois (577) is third followed by No. 15 Miami and No. 43 Louisville in fifth at 578. Forty-ninth ranked ECU sits in a three-way tie for ninth place with No. 26 Ohio State and Boston College.
